Second national training camp, September 24-25

The second NZU training camp has been confirmed for 24-25 September in Auckland. The venue will be Auckland Grammar – the venue for TE1 last year. Thanks to Warren we also have access to the Auckland Grammar hostel (accommodation) and dining hall (food).

Costs will be shared equally amongst all attendees as they were last time. Please book you flights asap to get the best fares. I will be sending out more info in due course.

Cheers,
Shane

National training camp, March 19-20

Thank you to all those who attended the first NZUPC Training Camp.

This camp was an important first step in New Zealand’s WUCC06 campaign and we are glad that you chose to be part of it. WUCC06 provides us with the opportunity to expose as many players as possible to world class competition.

The NZUPC would like to use WUCC06 to build on recent international successes at the elite level, as well as exposing up-and-coming players to international competition. This development function is critical to the long-term growth and improvement of Ultimate in New Zealand.

The purpose of this training camp was to demonstrate the skills you will need to allow you to perform to your full potential when it counts.

Q: When does it count?

A: It always counts, but it especially counts at the tail end of a tournament, when you are more fatigued and playing against teams of equal ability.

Preparing for WUCC06 means preparing to meet and beat the best players in the world. The hard work needs to be put in now to ensure that we have the skill base and attitude required to win the big games at WUCC06.
