Ultimate Photographer

Neil Gardner

Neil’s efforts behind the camera have allowed us to experience no less than 26 days of ultimate in the last year, ranging from pickup to World Club Champs, and including 5 NZ tournaments. It is fantastic to be able to refer to such a substantial record of these events, the value of which should not be underestimated. Aside from providing a photographic record of tournaments, it is great for tourney participants to be able to look through the photos and see what other teams were up to, and to see that fantastic play that “you had to see to believe”. It is also cool to be able to pass the link on to non-players so they can see somebody they know playing the sport and perhaps give them a bit more of an idea of what ultimate is.

It is now possible to experience a tournament without actually being there as Neil captures so much of the action (both on and off the field). I certainly look forward to Monday mornings following a tournament once Neil’s photos are online, and I hope Neil’s knee recovers in time for him to make it to the next tourney!
