NZU 2007 Mixed tour event
Espionage rulz... !!!After a season out in the wilderness - SPY are back with a vengeance! After a somewhat surprising dominance over Credo on Saturday, SPY were set to face Sour Cream (the number one seeds) in the semi-final. After starting well SPY found themselves struggling to find an answer for Sour Cream's high percentage offence in the wind. But a never say die attitude saw them rally to come from behind to take the game in sudden death. (Sorry our Photographer of the year couldn't make this one - so no action shots! ) The second semi-final saw a Credo team that was obviously hurting from their previous defeat to SPY and they came out firing and ended up beating the highly favoured 'Where is Hayden' team that had gone unbeaten on Saturday (beating Sour Cream in pool play) taking the number seed into the semi's. ![]() So the final saw a Credo vs SPY rematch. This was clearly to be a different game to that of pool play. The wind was still a factor but by no means the dominant force it was on Saturday. Credo started well and SPY struggled to score up wind. At 7-3 many were starting think it was all over - that's when SPY shifted into top gear with a 5 point run to take the half at 8-7. Now it was all on and the dedicated crowd that had hung around was treated to a spectacular finish with SPY finally taking out the game 13-11 at time cap.
