Women's & Men's tour: Auckland 20-21 January 2007

I would like to announce that the first Women’s and Men’s Tour Event for 2007 on January 20th and 21st is open for entries.
Team Organisers:
If you would like to enter a team, please let me know by emailing me so I can put you on my "Team Organisers" list. Please bear in mind that entries will close on Friday 12th of January – the week before the tournament to ensure that the draw can be worked out to everyone’s satisfaction well ahead of time. IF YOU DO NOT ENTER BY THEN YOU’RE OUT!!!!
Once you have let me know that you wish to enter a team I will email you an entry form for you to fill out and return to me ASAP with your team’s roster and the all important $$$.
If there are any players out there who don’t have a team but would like to play please email me and I will do my best to put you on a team.

Location: The event will be held at Hato Petera College in Akoranga (just over the harbour bridge on the north shore side). Take a look at the location and satellite image by going to the following URL: http://tinyurl.com/yjjvzw
Accommodation: It may be possible to offer accommodation at the Hato Petera Hostel or the AUT Hostel – I hope to have these details sorted by early next week.

Hato Petera College also have hostel accomodation that may be available

The Poenamu Hotel has accomodation (2-5 mins walk) and cheap drinks :)
For you upperclass lot - Spensor on Byron offer special rates to sports

Cost: The more teams that enter the lower the price will be per team so go out there and recruit not just for your team but for other teams as well!! Due to some cost increases in running this tournament compared to last time, the entry fee is initially set at $225. There will also be the additional $10 per player fee that AU will collect on behalf of NZU and then pass on.
Food: AU will not be providing food at this event but there are food places/supermarkets reasonably close to the venue.
Theme: eco-friendly free hugs tour event. Sounds a bit crazy I know but that’s my prerogative as TD! At the Ak tour event earlier this year I was shocked at how much rubbish was generated by us all, all of which went unsorted to landfill so this time I want to do things better. There will be 3 sets of bins provided this time to segregate wastes and make things a bit more eco friendly: Recyclables (glass and plastic #1&2), Compostable organic wastes and landfill only waste.
